Simulates the train-induced unsteady air flow by the dynamic mesh method in a full-scale geometry model. Analyses the air flow characteristics in the vents of platform screen doors, tunnel and platform stairway, and the characteristics of the vent shaft. The results show that the piston wind can be utilized in underground railway stations with vented platform screen doors to remove the waste heat in the tunnel and platform, which reduces the energy consumption of ventilation.
